Lawrence has spent his career leveling the playing field between everyday citizens and powerful corporations. As State Representative, he will bring that same fight to the State House by protecting workers' rights, lowering costs, and ensuring Rhode Island families are never left behind by a system that too often favors the politically connected. Families are being squeezed from every direction by rising utility bills, taxes, and the overall cost of living, and Lawrence is committed to addressing the root causes instead of offering empty promises. He will work to reduce electricity costs by eliminating wasteful special-interest mandates that currently drive up utility bills, helping families keep more of what they earn each month. He will fight to protect retirees by freezing property taxes for seniors and eliminating state taxes on pensions, Social Security benefits, and retirement income so Rhode Islanders who worked hard their entire lives can retire with dignity. Lawrence is also committed to cutting wasteful government spending, making state government more accountable, and lowering the overall tax burden on hardworking families and small businesses so Rhode Island becomes a more affordable place to live, work, raise a family, and retire.
